Welcome to the Lost Realm!

We are here in Globaloria, doing such things as writing a blog, editing our team page, posting our paper prototype to our team wiki, and maybe just maybe laughing at a funny joke inside our minds..
Most people are doing those things, but oh no I am not doing a single one of those things actually, what I am doing is bringing out the creative side of me in writing. So I must warn you now, be prepared to read the awesomeness that comes out of my mind!

But first, I need to get out what I think about Globaloria....

Globaloria is a class where you make games, that's kind of obvious. Here is my plan about how globaloria turned out from day 1 to this moment in time.

First-We had to take a survey
Second-Create a blog and wiki page, which took time during all the frustrations and negative vibe
third- we put our own touches on our wiki and blog
fourth- We picked our team partner
fifth- we chose our name
sixth-we created our team page and avatar
seventh- we picked our game topic
eighth- we created, filmed, and posted our paper prototype
We also wrote blogs and updated learning logs through these times
ninth-well is the current moment of time

Welcome to the 23rd century.

Filming our paper prototype was cool. We created a script that had exactly what needed to be said and we took that script and Mini-me and I both filmed us speaking and switching pages to see who we wanted to speak. Mini-me and I both decided that I would speak and he would film.
After we filmed our paper prototype we posted it to viddler and our team pages blog.

Making our prototype was a long and hard process but we got it done, in approximately 5 days, 22 hours, 5 minutes and 23 seconds. We enjoyed every single minute of it and when we were done, we were very excited about getting it posted to the team page. Well enough about the paper prototype, let's talk about something else.

Have you heard that Obama was once again talking about health care reform?

Yeah, he supposedly wants to get more health care for the elderly or something.

Well, that's a little out of my topic range, so let's get back to globaloria at Greenbrier East.

Globaloria-the class where you get to make a game!

Globaloria is also the class where you get to interact with other peers not only in your schools but others as well.

Another detail I forgot to tell about is the greatness about having our video on viddler.
Having our video on viddler is great because other people besides globalorians can see it and them seeing it can cause globaloria to be a well achieved class for future generations. For anybody who has never been to viddler, here's the link

Finished Paper Prototyping

The other day we filmed our paper prototype and posted it on viddler and our team page.
We would like everybody to check it out and give us some feedback, Mini-me and I(southpark8787) will try to do the same for other people's paper prototype.

Mini-me and I(SouthPark8787) are almost complete with our PaPeR pRoToTyPe, we just have to get the game set up.......so I leave you now- au revoir mon ami(e)s!

PROTO-PROTO-PROTO-TYPING_TYPING_TYPING

Today in Globaloria, Mini-me and I worked On PROTO_TYPING. We chose the bills and we are starting to get the prototyping underway with detail.

we will have 4 puzzles. I have finished "Bill's" puzzles-which basically has to do with if you want to answer the phone or risk getting caught by the cops. I also finished Bill, his friend, and his cousin.

Andrew and I started paper prototyping. I created "Bill". I still have to create "Bill's cousin" and "Bill's Friend".

flash movie

I made a little flash movie today.
I understand flash a little better but still need some help.
Mr. Allder came in and showed us how to upload the flash games, and that's basically all I did in class

The flash game i tried to make won't work for some reason, the code is messed up somehow.

Brainstorming our Game

The Three Branches

Our game is about the three branches of government-executive, judiciary, and legislative.
That is why we call our game “The Three Branches”.
Game Plan
There is three bills you can choose from.
You have to go through a series of puzzles(10 puzzles) and each puzzle you do correctly you get a vote for the bill you are trying to pass, but if you get 2 puzzles wrong the other two bills will get a vote and if there is too many votes(like 5) on the other bills, you can use any one of your 2 lifelines to help save/change your bill.
The 2 lifelines
1. President places a secret vote
2. You can switch the bills(choose either bill 1 or 2)

Our Game Plans so far

Three branches of government-how they affect each other and the community. Also we are going to try to put in on how the community can affect them and how we can have a say in the laws and rules that get passes through each branch. we are still thinking through the actual game plan but this is what we have so far.

Civics- topic is government

We branched out into GOVERNMENT which is the design of an electoral system and ongoing electoral reform. This involves explicitly comparing voting systems, wealth distribution, and the decentralization of political and legal power, control of legal systems and adoption of legal codes, and even political policy—all seen as important to avoid a dystrophy Canaveral state or a lapse into some undesirable state of totalitarianism or theocracy. Each of these concerns tends to make the process of governance different, as variations in these norms tend to produce a quite different kind of state. Civics was often simply concerned with the balance of power between say an aristocracy and monarchy—a concern echoed to this day in the struggles for power between different levels of rulers—say of the weaker nation states to establish a binding international law that will have an effect even on the stronger ones. Thus world government is itself properly a civic problem. Also, it is the study of duties and rights of citizenship.

On smaller scales, modern human development theory attempts to unify ethics and small-scale politics with the urban and rural economics of sustainable development.

JK, I am actually here to tell you that GLOBALORIA is really getting its path on the face of humanity. Soon enough we will get our game-creating minds flowing to create the best games IN GLOBALORIA HISTORY! We will dominate and succeed because GREENBRIER EAST GLOBALORIA HAS GOT IT GOING ON!!!! yeah I like to get a little pumped now and again but this is factual info! Wel it could be if we all just bare down the frustrations that may be caused in the future, and jump on board with this hypothesis and it will become a THEORY!

the first days of Globaloria "rant"

wow. Globaloria is really taking off. Even though we just really got started we are coming out and really getting motivated to do Globaloria(minus all the stress and unreliability in the first few classes). I plan on bringing my success in Globaloria further into my life because I want to be a successful game designer. Anyway, lets go back to my rant about the start of Globaloria, Globaloria was very doubting to our creative minds until we knew how to update our profile. well thats about it......

I just walked into Globaloria, getting ready to go to my profile to add other friends and read some blogs.

I played casual games, and I looked at the resources. Globaloria is interesting and it provides the fundamentals of game making. The game "Kute little aliens" is a game about aliens where you have to click certain things you want the aliens to do, but on certain ones you die, so you have to go back and try to survive.
